MIAMI (AP) – Authorities say a 15-year-old boy led police on a vehicle chase across South Florida for more than an hour.
Miami-Dade police say a white Chevy Tahoe was reported stolen in the southern part of the county shortly after noon Tuesday. Police spotted the SUV several miles away a short time later and attempted a traffic stop.
The SUV’s driver fled south and then north on the Turnpike, eventually making his way to Broward County. Police say he hit several vehicles, including an unmarked Homestead police vehicle, before finally coming to a stop around 2 p.m.
The teen was arrested without further incident. He was charged with grand theft auto, fleeing and eluding, aggravated assault and driving without a license.
