MIAMI (AP) – Dozens of immigrant advocates and immigrants are planning to rally Monday outside the Supreme Court as the justices hear oral arguments in a major immigration case that could affect millions of people in the United States illegally.

The court is weighing the fate of Obama administration programs that could shield 4 million people from deportation and grant them temporary legal status. Texas and 25 other states, including Florida, sued to block the new initiatives

The Florida Immigration Coalition and others left on a bus Sunday to join many others expected to demonstrate outside the high court. “Thousands of immigrant families are suffering from the backlash of legal battles led by extremists, forcing them to live in limbo and constant fear of deportation.” said Maria Rodriguez, the coalition’s executive director.
