NAPLES, Fla. A 53-year-old homeless man was arrested after banging on a woman’s door yelling someone was trying to kill him, the Collier County Sheriff’s Office said.

Ernest Michael Salasar tried to force his way inside of a home on Bamboo Drive at approximately 10 p.m. on Thursday. The home owner, Anita Gonzalez, opened her door to speak to Salasar and noticed that he was intoxicated, officials said.

Frightened for her life Gonzalez shut the door, locked herself in her room and grabbed her handgun until deputies arrived, officials said.

Deputies found Salasar hiding underneath Gonzalez’s wheelchair ramp outside of her home, officials said.

Salasar told deputies he was allegedly being chased by two black men after he verbally offended them.

Salasar is facing charges of loitering or prowling. His bond is set at $1,000.00.

He has been arrested multiple times over the past 10 years.
