New system aims to wipe out voter fraud

NAPLES, Fla. A new system aims to improve the accuracy of votes and to increase access to voter registration for all eligible citizens in Florida.

Collier County Elections Supervisor Jennifer J. Edwards is hoping legislatures statewide adopt the system known as the Electronic Registration Information Center (ERIC).

“With clean roles we’ll have more accurate results when it comes to voter turnout,” said Trish Robertson, Collier County Supervisor of Elections Communications Coordinator.

While voter fraud is an upsetting issue, some voters like the idea if it protects their information and the integrity of election results.

“If they do it the correct way. If they don’t do it the correct way it will go on and on,” resident Rich Murray said.

Currently, 20 states and the District of Columbia take part in the program.
