Joey Kauffman, 54, was arrested Saturday after a woman came forward claiming Kauffman was seen using a cell phone to shoot photos up and underneath her clothing, according to the North Port Police Department. The department’s digital forensic team found multiple images of unsuspecting women on Kauffman’s cell phone, the agency said. The incidents took place at the Walmart store at 17000 Tamiami Trail from August to September. Kauffman faces one charge of video voyeurism on a victim 19 or older, but could face more charges if there are other victims, police said. He has since bonded out of the Sarasota County Jail. The NPPD says if you saw anything suspicious relating to the case to contact Ofc. Shannon Fotuno at 941-467-0281 or sfortuno@northportpd.com.
