Major cold front on the way

Enjoy the warm weather while it lasts! Sunday will be the last warm day for a while, as a powerful cold front arrives Monday morning.

As for today’s forecast, expect a mixture of sun and clouds, with a humid breeze and highs topping out in the upper 70s.

The springlike warmth comes to an end Monday morning, as old man Winter returns to SW Florida. The front will push across the area around sunrise. With it, we’ll see scattered showers and possibly a rumble of thunder. The threat of rain will quickly end from north to south, with most spots picking up a quarter of an inch or less. By mid-morning, we should be drying out nicely around the area.

Behind the front, arctic air will invade the Sunshine State. Highs on Tuesday will struggle to get out of the 50s, with Wednesday only reaching the mid 60s. At night, temperatures will plunge into the 40s along the coast, with 30s inland Tuesday through Thursday mornings.
