Firefighters responded to a boat fire on Fort Myers Beach near the Pink Shell Marina Thursday night.
Fire crews said they initially saw heavy smoke coming from the engine compartment.
The U.S. Coast Guard towed the boat to Bowditch Beach where firefighters boarded the vessel and extinguished the flames.
No injuries were reported.
Sanibel Fire Rescue District said fires that occur on boats can spread quickly and have unique challenges due to hazardous conditions and limited access.
