Credit: The Weather Authority The Weather Authority is tracking a mild and drier Wednesday morning, with rain expected inland this afternoon. WINK Morning Meteorologist Zach Maloch states,” We’re going to see drier conditions along the coast with just a few showers inland. Due to the drier air, temperatures will feel hotter, so if you are expected to be outside for an extended period of time, wear some lighter clothing.” Maloch then stated that as Southwest Florida looks ahead to the weekend, a weak cold front on Saturday. The cold front will not affect the afternoon highs; however, it will affect the humidity. The lower humidity will make for a more pleasant Mother’s Day this Sunday. We are feeling mild and muggy conditions with temperatures in the lower to mid-70s Wednesday morning. Wednesday afternoon will be hotter and drier, with only a few storms possible inland this afternoon and evening. Highs in the lower to mid 90s with “feels like” temperatures in the mid to upper 90s. Thursday morning will start mild and muggy with temperatures in the lower to mid-70s. Dry weather will be with all of us for Thursday which means the heat is going to be the big story. Highs will climb into the lower to mid 90s with temperatures feeling like 95 to 100° in the afternoon. Friday morning will be warmer and more humid, with temperatures in the mid to upper 70s. Coastal communities will be hot and dry Friday with the sea breeze boundary developing more inland. This means the few storms that develop Friday will impact Southwest Florida’s inland communities. Highs will not be as hot and in the upper 80s and lower 90s. This week is National Hurricane Preparedness Week. Therefore, the Weather Authority is focusing on “Get Moving When a Storm Threatens.” Expect what that means for you as Meteorologist Lauren Kreidler will publish a detailed explanation on Wednesday. You can keep up to date on Zach Maloch’s Facebook page and watch WINK Mornings from 4:30 to 11 a.m. Monday through Friday.
