Triple-digit “feels like” temperatures return to Southwest Florida

Highs will reach the upper 80s and mid to lower-90s.

Very humid conditions will make our temperatures “feel like” the triple digits in many spots.

Isolated storms have a good chance of forming this evening. These would likely be focused along the coastline.

There is now a tropical wave in the central Gulf of Mexico. It has a low, 10% chance of development over the next 2 days, before moving onshore in the northern Gulf of Mexico. It is not expected to strengthen, but will bring heavy rain and gusty winds to parts of Louisiana to the western Florida panhandle.

Apart from the humidity, a plume of Saharan dust made Saturday’s skies extra hazy. Expect that swath of dust to stick around through Wednesday.

Boaters will encounter moderate chop and two to three-foot wave heights on the gulf waters. A few showers and storms may be possible along the coastline beginning in the late afternoon.
