Motorcyclist killed in crash with school bus in Lehigh Acres

Florida Highway Patrol says a motorcyclist is dead after a crash with a school bus on Lee Boulevard in Lehigh Acres on Tuesday.

FHP says there were 23 students on the bus, most of them teenagers. They say none of the students were injured.

Troopers say the motorcyclist was a 19-year-old. They have not released his name.

The crash took place on Lee Boulevard near the intersection with Bruce Avenue N.

According to troopers, the motorcycle was traveling east on Lee Blvd. at a high speed when a school bus was turning left onto Bruce Ave. N. The motorcycle hit the right side of the bus, and the motorcyclist was thrown from his vehicle.

Florida Highway Patrol did not say if the motorcyclist was wearing a helmet.

FHP has not released any other information.
