On Wednesday, Nov. 23, more than 538,000 property tax bills will be mailed to home and business owners in Lee County.
According to the Lee County Tax Collector, these bills reflect the value of the property as of Jan. 1, 2022, when Florida law required them to be assessed.

They don’t reflect the damage done or the destruction caused by Hurricane Ian.
If your property was completely destroyed or rendered uninhabitable after the storm, you will receive an extension on both the tax deadline and the discount period as per Governor Ron DeSantis’ Executive Order 22-242.
Click here to contact the Property Appraiser’s Office if you, as a property owner, feel like you qualify for the offer. You can also reach them by calling 239-533-6100.
If you meet the criteria you have until May 31, 2023, to pay your taxes with a 4% discount in Nov., Dec., Jan., 3% in Feb., 2% in March, and 1% in April.
