Health officials are allowing swimmers to return to the water at three Naples beaches after finding high bacteria levels.

The Florida Department of Health in Collier County warned people on Thursday to stay out of the water at Naples Pier, Lowdermilk Beach and Doctors Pass.

Tests completed on Friday indicated that the water quality shows an acceptable level of Enterococcus bacteria, as established by state guidelines.

NCH told WINK News that one person with an open cut got an infection after spending time in the gulf waters near Naples, but they have not seen an uptick since the advisory was issued.

Officials said all three beaches are once again safe to swim or wade at just in time for the weekend.
