Semi-truck crash on I-75S; rooftop shingles spilled onto highway

Alligator Alley has completely reopened near Mile Marker 90 in Collier County after crews cleared the road of spilled roof shingles.

The Florida Highway Patrol responded to a semi-truck that crashed on Interstate 75 southbound and caused major traffic back-ups.

The Florida Department of Transportation reported the crash at around 3:43 a.m. on Tuesday. It took nearly nine hours for the road to fully reopen.

WINK News was rolling on the FDOT camera as it cleared.

The semi-truck was transporting rooftop shingles that spilled from the truck onto the highway.

The roadway was reduced to one lane while crews worked to clear the scene.

No injuries were reported.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
