The Weather Authority is tracking hot temperatures and scattered rain storms expected during the Friday evening commute.

The Weather Authority Meteorologist Juliana Mejia said, “Rain is in the forecast this Friday afternoon with development starting inland before working towards the west coast. During the evening hours, be mindful of any rain development that will occur in our area.”

Mejia also stresses awareness regarding hydroplaning while driving, as motorists may be at risk during the rain showers expected in the evening.

Friday

Most of Friday’s rain will once again arrive later due to easterly winds developing rain inland first, then pushing them towards the coast through the afternoon and evening.

This causes more above-average highs this afternoon in the low-to-mid 90s.

Feels-like range from 102-107°.

Saturday

Another muggy and dry start to the day on Saturday. Highs remain in the low 90s. Sea breeze looks to kick in a bit earlier and isolated-to-scattered storms may develop as early as 12 – 2 p.m. and continue on and off through the evening.

Sunday

Another dry and quiet morning with lows in the upper 70s.

Slightly weaker easterly winds mean that afternoon scattered showers and storms have the chance to stay mainly inland, but expect at least isolated storms along the coast through the evening as well.

Atmospheric moisture begins to increase by late Sunday, which will amplify rain coverage heading into Monday and Tuesday.
