NHC tracking tropical waves in the Atlantic and Gulf of Mexico

The National Hurricane Center is tracking tropical waves in the Atlantic and the Gulf of Mexico. The waves are not expected to develop into tropical cyclones in the next seven days.

The NHC is tracking a a tropical wave in the Central Atlantic moving westward at 10 knots. The wave is embedded within a very dry low to mid-level air mass likely due to Saharan dust.

There is another tropical wave in the Gulf of Mexico producing scattered heavy showers and strong thunderstorms south of Louisiana and eastern Texas.
