Thousands of people in Collier County were without power on Wednesday night. The Lee County Electric Cooperative told Wink News the outages were concentrated in Ave Maria and the cause is unknown. At the height of the outages, the LCEC map showed 6,600 customers were impacted, affecting about 38% of people living in the area. As of 11 p.m., the LCEC website shows the problem under control.
