The Weather Authority Meteorologist Zach Maloch said, “For today, temperatures will be warmer with breezier conditions. For Halloween on Thursday, expect mild and breezy conditions for trick-or-treaters.” Wednesday A milder and slightly more humid start to Wednesday will give way to a warmer afternoon. Warmer-than-normal temperatures are in the forecast, with highs in the mid- to upper 80s. Wednesday afternoon, winds will continue to be breezy, with gusts between 20 – 30 mph. Thursday Happy Halloween! Sun and clouds will be with us for your Thursday afternoon plans. Once again, the winds will be breezy, with gusts between 20 and 30 mph. Highs will be in the mid- to upper 80s. Mainly dry conditions with breezy weather will be in the forecast for trick-or-treating plans! Friday A mild and humid start to your Friday morning plans. While most will stay dry, a few showers will be possible throughout the day. Despite the rain chance, mainly dry conditions are expected for Football Friday Night games across Southwest Florida. Highs will be in the mid- to upper 80s. Tropics Update The Weather Authority Meteorologists are monitoring the Caribbean as tropical development is possible over the next seven days. Late in the week, models highlighted a broad area of low pressure in the Caribbean that can slowly strengthen as it moves gradually off to the northeast. However, models remain quite inconsistent on whether and how this area develops. In fact, this morning’s models show less development and are delaying potential development to next week. So far, nothing in the tropics is a threat to Southwest Florida. So far this season, we have seen 15 named storms, 10 of which developed into hurricanes and 4 of which developed into major hurricanes. Hurricane season ends on November 30.
