According to the City of Punta Gorda’s Facebook page, the precautionary Boil Water Notice that was issued on Thursday has been rescinded.
The boil water notice was issued on Thursday due to a “low-pressure even in the distribution system.”
Neighbors were asked to boil water for one minute before drinking, cooking or brushing their teeth.
The city plans to make multiple improvements to the water system. Those include six water main upgrades, an expansion of the Reverse Osmosis Water Treatment Plant, and rehabilitation of the Surface Water Treatment Plant.
