According to the Collier County Sheriff’s Office, a brush fire has ignited in Collier County, affecting local roads and visibility.

The fire forced the temporary closure of Oil Well Road from Camp Keais Road to State Road 29 due to heavy smoke Friday afternoon, which caused poor visibility for drivers.

By 4:10 p.m., Oil Well Road had reopened, but authorities advised motorists to use caution and find alternate routes if possible, as heavy smoke persisted in the area and hot spots continued to flare up.
