A body was discovered floating in the Charlotte Harbor at the base of the bridge on the Port Charlotte side, according to Charlotte County Sheriff’s Office. According to deputies, the medical examiner will determine what killed the victim, identified as 73-year-old Roger Harold Nehring. Deputies heard from someone in the area who called authorities around 1:54 p.m., Tuesday. Investigators ask anyone with information call the Charlotte County Sheriff’s Office at 941-639-2101.
