Purple Heart Day

FORT MYERS, Fla.- Military veterans met at a new Sam’s Club in Cape Coral on Friday.

The discount club introduced Purple Heart parking for two spaces closest to the front door geared at honoring wounded combat veterans.

August 7 also marked the first day of Purple Heart Day in Florida. Governor Rick Scott signed a proclamation making the date official.
