Undefeated Brothers

Published: Updated:

Dario Bredicean and his younger brother Bruno are both undefeated in their young professional boxing careers. The recent Cape Coral High School graduates credit their Romania father with inspiring them to get into boxing. Dario was a runner-up at the Florida State Wrestling Meet at Cape Coral High School while Bruno had a sixth place finish at the State Wrestling Meet.

Both have been training in boxing gyms since Bruno was 11 and Dario was 12. After high school, boxing became the family business. “Just trying to captivate audiences right now and then work our way up the rankings and then we’ll look for the big fights when they come to us” said 22-year old Dario who is 9-0 as a professional Super Middleweight. Bruno is 21-years old and is 4-0 in the Welterweight division after following his brother into pro boxing. “With my fighting style and my character and everything, I feel like I can be a really big deal in this sport” said Bruno.

“A lot of boxers come up, they have the story of having to fight out of poverty or the ghetto, we grew up not too bad” said Dario who like his brother was born in Chicago to a Polish mother.

The brothers have been building their records up with winnable fights but the rising stars expect belts to be on the line before too long. “Hopefully we’ll be nipping at 10, 12 round fights, end of next year, we’ll see. We’ll go after minor titles, get noticed and then we’ll start calling out and going after the big fish” said Dario. “It’s exciting, there’s a lot of adrenaline. When it’s fight day I’m anxious to get in the ring already. It’s my sense of peace, that’s where I’m comfortable at” said Bruno.

Dominant heavyweight boxers Vitali and Wladimir Klitschko have famously said they’ll never fight each other despite reportedly being offered a lot of money to do so. The Bredicean’s have a little bit of a different take. “You give me a purse like that and you might see my brother and I in the ring. Money talks, I wouldn’t mind, he’s had it coming for a little bit too” said Dario. With a smile, Bruno agreed, “the money talks and I’ll eat a few steaks to go up a weight class if the money’s good. Possibly yes but I love the kid, I don’t want to hurt him.”

Dario and Bruno both expect to be on the same fight card fight on September 3rd in Montreal. It would be the first time they’ve ever both had fights on the same card.
