SOUTH FORT MYERS, Fla. — The flames of the boat fire early Friday morning in a canal on North Waterway Drive have been contained.
There were no injuries reported as the fire was extinguished, Iona-McGregor Fire Rescue Captain Brian Crisman said.
After looking into what sparked the blaze, Ed Steffens, the Iona-McGregor fire marshal got in touch with the owners and found that the cause of the fire was electrical and reported an accident.
