CAPE CORAL, Fla. — An Island Coast High School student was arrested Wednesday for assaulting another student with a knife, according to the Lee County Sheriff’s Office.
A witness said a 17-year-old student got into a heated argument with a 16 year old. Once they exited the bus at school, the fight turned physical.
The 17 year old’s teenage cousin attempted to join the fight but kept getting pushed away, according to police reports.
While getting pushed, the cousin retrieved a knife from his backpack and tried to attack the 16 year old.
However, police reports show the bus driver intervened and was able to restrain him.
The cousin was released on bond Thursday and is facing charges of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and possession of a weapon on school property.
