The FBI said more of these homemade explosives could still be in the mail system. WINK News spoke to a postal worker on the front lines. They said they are trained for events like this.

The FBI said the packages with explosives track back to Florida.

“Postal workers are on the front lines of these kinds of terror attacks,” said Sam Wood, president of the American Postal Workers Union. “We look for smells in packages; we look for any different sizes, shapes, whether they have return addresses, what kind of return address. Is it addressed to the same person?”

At least 10 suspicious packages were sent to prominent Democrats, including Former President Barack Obama, Former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton and Former Vice President Joe Biden.

Wood said they know exactly what to look for when it comes to suspicious packages, and they say every time you drop off a piece of mail here. They can track it back to you pretty easily.

“We scan everything,” Wood said. “By tracking packages, I can’t give the secrets out, but there’s ways we can detect where packages come from.”

The FBi said you need to be on “high alert.”

For example, looking for excessive postage stamps or tape, envelopes with printed labels and warnings such as “fragile” or rush delivery.

“I think if I see something that doesn’t look like it came from Amazon or those other package companies, I’d take a hard look at it, especially now,” Wood said.
