Naples unattended death investigation (WINK News) Two people were mysteriously found dead Friday in their upscale Naples home, according to police. Naples police’s PIO confirmed two people were found dead inside their home in the 800 block of 7th Street South near Cambier Park in downtown Naples around 9 a.m. NPD received the call as a possible medical emergency after a key holder arrived at the location to take one of the deceased to an appointment. There was no answer at the door, so they went into the residence and found the two, then called police. Police say this was an unattended death and continue to actively investigate. Naples unattended death investigation (WINK News) Meeting and talking with people in the neighborhood, you can feel their sense of loss and their stress over not knowing exactly what happened. They want to know what happened behind the crime scene tape, what happened to the two people living inside the million-dollar home. “Was it an accident,” asked Richard Ulrich, or something criminal? “I just don’t know if something happened between them, I don’t know,” said Megan MacGregor. “If it’s an intruder or something like that, I’d like to know about it. I’d like to be informed if there’s any danger,” Ulrich said. There’s lots of talking and lots of speculation going on in this Naples neighborhood. People say they saw the couple sitting on their porch all the time and they were quick with a wave and a friendly smile. “I’m in complete shock right now,” MacGregor said. She said she’s known the woman for years. Seeing forensics vans and detectives makes her nervous. “I know recently, within a couple years, she got remarried, so I was hoping she was happy,” MacGregor said. Right now, all detectives will confirm is that the people found dead lived in the home. “I wish it wasn’t the house that I think that it is and the people that I wish that it wasn’t,” MacGregor said. “I’m just so sorry for them. So sorry. Because they were good people.” NPD said in a press release Saturday that there is no threat to the public and they are not seeking any suspects or persons of interest. Detectives are awaiting autopsy results from the Collier County Medical Examiner to determine the manner and cause of death. Additional information regarding the investigation including the names of the subjects will not be released at this time due to the ongoing, active criminal investigation, the Florida Marsy’s Law exemption.
