A Venice 18-year-old has been arrested in a crash that killed a teen in August on I-75 in Collier County.
The Florida Highway Patrol says Gaven Kreuser, who was 17 at the time of the crash, is facing charges of driving without a license (causing death), driving without a license (causing serious bodily injury), vehicular homicide and reckless driving (causing serious bodily injury).
The crash happened shortly after 8 a.m. Aug. 4 near mile marker 65.
Kreuser had four 16-year-old passengers in the car when it crashed, killing one of them and leaving two with serious injuries.
Troopers said at the time that Kreuser drove the car into the back of a semi, flipped and hit a guardrail.
Three medical helicopters were called to the scene, which closed the interstate for about an hour.
The driver of the semi-truck, a 63-year-old man, did not have any injuries.
Kreuser is currently in the Sarasota County Jail. No bond amount has been set.
