One Southwest Florida couple is happy and relieved Wednesday morning after finally getting vaccinated, but it wasn’t easy. While getting the vaccine at a Lee or Collier County site might have been more convenient, Terri Lynn and Mark Young of Naples could only secure a spot at a Publix location three hours away in Spring Hill, north of Tampa.

“I’ve traveled all across the state—forgive me, I have not heard of Spring Hill, Florida,” Lynn said.

But the couple didn’t care, as they knew their vaccines would be waiting for them when they arrived.

Lynn and Young say they had to get both their first and second doses at that location.
Despite the hassle and all the online waiting, they made the most of it. Seeing other people’s frustration, they just feel grateful to be vaccinated.

“We would do it again in a heartbeat,” Lynn said. “It was worth it. We feel so blessed that we are vaccinated.”

“When we got the second shot, that was like a big weight was off our shoulders,” Young said.

“I know nothing is 100% foolproof, but just to have the peace of mind… I will tell you, my dreams have been better, I’m sleeping better,” Lynn said.

Publix says in order to go to a different location for your second shot, you have to go online and book it yourself.
