A house on Taylor Drive in Lee County erupted into flames early Thursday morning after an electrical accident.

The home is right off of Island Park Road, just south of the Forest Country Club Golf. San Carlos Park Fire Chief David Cambareri tells WINK News investigators found the cause of the fire, which broke out just after midnight, to be an “accidental electrical event.”

The roof of the house and some hurricane windows were severely damaged. The fire affected portions of both floors of the house.

Two people were taken to a local area hospital for issues related to smoke inhalation, and their pet is still missing.
