AAA said Ford pickup trucks are one of the most stolen vehicles in the country. If you have one at home, make sure to keep it locked.

But you can use an app to track your vehicle’s location, and chances are a thief would not know it.

Tuesday morning, thieves decided there would be one less 350 model pickup truck on the block. It was stolen right outside Michelle Pomerleau’s home.

“It’s a limited edition. So it’s kind of there was only two years, they made this specific one,” Pomerleau said.

Security footage from a neighbor’s camera caught the two crooks driving away.

Cape PD said this was not the only F-350 ripped off that night. Just two blocks over on SW 5th Street, another one was taken.

Kelly Byers lives nearby and told WINK News He’s not taking any chances with his Ford truck.

“We’ve got the less expensive vehicle parked behind the more expensive one,” Byers said.

Byers came up with the idea because the F 350 model is too big to fit inside his garage. He also uses the app Ford Pass, to track his truck’s location.

Pomerleau didn’t have Ford Pass set up, nevertheless, she’s trying to track her husband’s truck.

“I went on the SunPass thing so we’re cause it had a SunPass to see if it had left the Cape and as of yesterday, I didn’t see that,” Pomerleau said.

Local resale shops also haven’t received any inventory related to Pomerleau’s husband’s truck. Despite this, she hopes it will be found in good condition. And she’ll be making some serious changes to her home’s security.

“I’m getting my locks changed,” Pomerleau said.

There are many different GPS trackers you can buy and install, and only run about $80. Some ever track your vehicle’s location every 15 seconds.
