SWFL participating in world’s largest swimming lesson

A worldwide event to raise awareness about the importance of teaching kids to swim is happening on Thursday.

The 15th anniversary of ‘the world’s largest swimming lesson’ is expected to draw more than 39,000 kids and parents to pools across the globe.

Locally, Sunsplash in Cape Coral is participating in the one-day event. The free lesson, from 9:30 to 10 a.m. will teach basic water safety skills.

Registration is required.

Charlotte County has four locations participating in the event.

These lessons will be from 10 to 10-30 a.m.

Registration is not required.
