The Weather Authority is tracking high afternoon temperatures and inland rain showers throughout the early evening on Friday.

The Weather Authority Meteorologist Juliana Mejia said, “We’re tracking showers throughout the day, with spotty showers onshore and afternoon storms inland throughout the afternoon and into the early evening.”

Temperatures climb from the upper 70s and low 80s to the low 90s for most of the area this afternoon with feels like temperatures ranging from 101-110 degrees.

Scattered showers and storms in the afternoon will fall near the Interstate 75 corridor in the early afternoon and progress eastward, staying mainly inland into the early evening.

Chances for scattered showers and storms continue through the weekend, but the wind direction will shift and offshore flow will help keep the morning dry and develop rain by the afternoon.

High temperatures climb a degree or two but generally continue in the low and mid-90s.

Low temperatures remain in the upper 70s and climb to the low 90s for high temperatures in the afternoon.

Offshore flow remains in place meaning chances for scattered storms exist primarily for the afternoon hours on Sunday.

Rain coverage is looking to be slightly more widespread and intense on Sunday compared to Saturday.
