The U.S. Small Business Administration has extended the deadline to apply for federal disaster loans.

The SBA extended the deadline to give Florida businesses and residents more time to apply for physical damage caused by hurricanes Helene and Milton from Sept. 23 through Nov. 2.

The types of loans available include home disaster loans, business physical disaster loans and economic injury disaster loans.

According to the SBA, home disaster loans allow homeowners or renters to repair or replace disaster-damaged real estate and personal property, including automobiles.

Businesses of any size are eligible for business physical disaster loans.

Private, non-profit organizations such as charities, churches, private universities, etc., are also eligible.

Economic injury disaster loans help small businesses, small agricultural cooperatives, small businesses engaged in aquaculture and most private, non-profit organizations of all sizes.

The deadline has been extended to Jan. 7.
