Awards & Recognition

Certified Broadcast Meteorologist (CBM) designation from the American Meteorological Society.

News Philosophy

Our job as meteorologists isn’t just to forecast the weather. It’s explaining the science to you, the viewer, in a fun, accurate and engaging way!

Hobbies, Interests & Community Involvement

I love exploring the outdoors with friends, family, and especially my puppy, Roger! I much prefer Diet Coke over coffee. I love to learn and would attend school for the rest of my life (and forecast the weather on the side) if I could. I enjoy being active as a dancer and swimmer, but football is my favorite sport - although I never played. Growing up an Auburn fan, I’ll always have a loyalty to the Tigers, but my main sports teams are the Florida Gators, Atlanta Falcons, and Atlanta Braves. I’m an alumni of the Chi Omega Fraternity and very passionate about our philanthropy, the Make-A-Wish Foundation.

Tropical Depression 13 maintains speed; cone shifts some to the southwest

Tropics heating up, watching 2 tropical waves for development this week

It’s mid-August, and right on cue, we’re watching two disturbances in the Atlantic, located between Africa and the Caribbean Islands. Both of these tropical waves have a chance to develop, especially towards the end of the week. The first disturbance we’re tracking is located a few hundred miles east of the Lesser Antilles, and has […]

NHC gives new tropical wave 60% chance of development

A tropical wave in the central tropical Atlantic has changed little in organization Monday. Environmental conditions are forecast to be conducive for development over the next couple of days, as the disturbance moves toward the Lesser Antilles. However, by this weekend, the tropical wave will move into a more hostile environment, featuring higher vertical wind […]

National Hurricane Center monitors new tropical wave

New as of 8 a.m. Friday, the National Hurricane Center is monitoring a tropical wave located several hundred miles west-southwest of the Cabo Verde Islands. There is a small possibility of development over the next few days before conditions are expected to become less conducive. Right now, it has a 10% chance of development over […]

NHC gives low pressure in the Atlantic an extremely low chance of development

It’s become unlikely that a small, weak area of low pressure a few hundred miles southwest of Bermuda will develop. The storm activity surrounding it has decreased significantly, and strengthening will be hindered due to dry air and high wind shear. The National Hurricane Center has lowered the chance of development to near 0%. It […]
