ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. – Spring training may have just ended but that only means the regular professional baseball season is just beginning.

The Tampa Bay Rays kick off their 18th season at Tropicana Field against the Baltimore Orioles. First pitch goes out at 3:10 p.m. and the Rays are looking forward to another exciting season of baseball.

Notable this year, Kevin Cash joins the team as the youngest manager in team history and one of the youngest in Major League Baseball at the age of 37. Which has many excited, including team president Brian Auld, “he’s a tremendous communicator, he’s got a lot of confidence in our front office and he’s very much focused on sharing the way we think about baseball,” said Auld.

The fan experience is even greater and bigger than ever this year, with more than $2 million in park improvements. Executive Chef, Marc Spooner also added several items to the park menu, including the Everglades’ Roadhouse Mac Dog. A half-pound, all-beef grilled frank topped with creamy mac and cheese, red jalapeño and crispy onion straws.

Rays opening day is sold out but there’s plenty of time for you to catch a game at “The Trop,” to buy tickets and view the full team schedule, click here.
