TAMPA, Fla. (AP) – Authorities are investigating after a man wearing women’s clothing was found dead in park near a Tampa Bay area community center.
The Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office reports that an employee at University Area Community Park found 25-year-old Samuel Elija Clarke’s body Tuesday morning near some basketball courts. Clarke appeared to suffer from blunt-force trauma to the upper body. An autopsy will determine the cause of death.
Officials say investigators are trying to track Clarke’s activity the day before he was found dead. There are security cameras around the park, but it wasn’t immediately known if they captured the killing.
Detectives didn’t immediately have a motive for the fatal attack, but they believe Clarke may have known the suspect.
