Top-3 finishes for three locals at Junior Olympics

Barron Collier High School senior Brandon Cachon finished second in the 400 meter dash at the USATF National Junior Olympics Track and Field Championships. The event ran from July 27-August 2 at the University of North Florida in Jacksonville. Cachon finished in 47.62 which was .07 seconds behind Ryan Champlin in the 17-18 year old division.

Fort Myers 15 year old Seneca Milledge had the second best mark in the 15-16 year old division of the Long Jump. Milledge cleared 22-1.75 which was 8 inches less than Jayhlen Washington. Milledge will be a freshman at Dunbar High School in the fall.

Fort Myers 14 year old Deismond Davis placed third in the 200 meter dash in the 13-14 year old division. A bad start hurt Davis as he finished with a time of 22.53, .27 seconds behind the winner. Davis will be a freshman at Dunbar.
