CORAL SPRINGS, Fla. (WSVN)- Two south Florida officers are being recognized for their random act of kindness.

Fast food giant Arby’s offered officers free meals as a promotion after a Pembroke Pines restaurant refused to serve an officer in uniform.

Instead of chowing down, two Coral Springs officers gave their free food to a nearby homeless man. They say it was the right thing to do.

“He was grateful, like Officer Reik said, he was a little caught off guard,” said Officer Jonathan Greenleaf.

The officers say they don’t hold the incident in Pembroke Pines against Arby’s. They’re just thankful they were able to give back.
