FMPD investigating carjacking at Sunterra Apartments

FORT MYERS, Fla.- Fort Myers police are investigating a carjacking Monday morning at the Sunterra Apartments on Evans Avenue.

Around 10:30 a.m., authorities say a woman was in the parking lot getting ready to enter her car when a man threatened her with a firearm and took off in her car. The vehicle was later located by authorities but the suspect is still on the run.

The suspect is described as being a black man in his late 30s, around 5 feet 8 inches in height and weighing approximately 200 pounds. The man was wearing a red ball cap and a black t-shirt and is described as having a gap in between his front teeth.
