NAPLES, Fla. – The smell of BBQ is in the air as teams from across Florida and Georgia have arrived in Naples to compete in the Big Swamp Smoke Off at the Collier County Fair Grounds.

Both Friday and Saturday, January 8th and 9th the fair grounds will be home to some of the best BBQ featuring live music, craft beer and games for the kids. This year, admission to the Big Swamp Smoke Off is free and your chance to sample and eat some of the country’s best BBQ.

Dana “Big Papa” Hillis, of Big Papa’s Country Kitchen, joined WINK News Reporter John Trierweiler on Wednesday morning to show off their chicken, pork and ribs as they prepare for the big contest. Hillis is a defending champion at the Big Swamp Smoke Off and holds more than 600 barbecue contest titles from around the country, including “Best Ribs in America.”
