ESTERO, Fla. – The eighth annual WINK News Feeds Families Hunger Walk was a huge success Saturday.

Every year WINK News teams up with the Harry Chapin food bank to help raise money to feed families in need in Southwest Florida. This Saturday hundreds came out to show their support.

“They need food, and [the] Harry Chapin Food bank is a fabulous organization and it’s a definite cause in Southwest Florida, so I’m walking,” said volunteer Kerrie Wilson.

For every dollar collected, the food bank can buy six dollars worth of food.

“The people who are being served today, they’re working families who just can’t make ends meet. The Harry Chapin Food Bank is there to provide all these partner agencies with the food they need just to feed their families,” said WINK News Anchor Lois Thome.
