DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. (AP) – A central Florida woman has been sentenced to 20 months in prison for jumping into a fight between her teenage daughter and another girl and kicking the other girl in the face.

The Daytona Beach News-Journal reports that 38-year-old Clesha Pinckney was sentenced this week after jurors convicted her of felony child abuse. She had faced up to five years in prison.

Authorities say the victim was walking home from Campbell Middle School in December 2014 when an SUV pulled up and two juveniles jumped out to attack her. Pinckney also got out of the SUV and kicked the girl in the face when she was already on the ground.
