MGN FORT MYERS, Fla.- Southwest Florida veterans are returning home from Washington, D.C. Saturday night. 45 World War II veterans and 20 Korean War veterans got the opportunity to visit several memorials in the nation’s capitol today. The group planned to tour the Air Force Memorial, WWII Memorial, Tomb of the Unknown Soldier at Arlington National Cemetery to witness the Changing of the Guard, Korean War Memorial, Vietnam Wall, and the Iwo Jima Monument. The organization hosting the event is inviting anyone to welcome home the veterans when their flight lands Saturday night at Southwest Florida International Airport at 10 p.m. A second welcome home ceremony will be at the Naples Municipal Airport at 11:30 p.m.
