I-75 westbound reopens after car fire on Alligator Alley

EAST NAPLES, Fla. — A car on fire shut down the westbound lanes of Interstate 75 on Alligator Alley near mile marker 84 for about an hour shortly before noon Tuesday, the Florida Highway Patrol said.

Crews have extinguished the blaze, and the highway has reopened. Westbound I-75 is officially classified as northbound as it crosses Florida before curving northward in Naples.
