ORLANDO, Fla. — Over 40,000 golf professionals flocked to the PGA Merchandise show in Orlando this week, including a nation-wide company headquartered in Lehigh Acres. Easy Picker Golf Products, a manufacturer and distributor of golf equipment, deals with 20,000 golf courses and driving ranges throughout the country, said president Giles Meyer. Three years ago, the company partnered with Fairways for Warriors, a nonprofit organization dedicated to helping wounded veterans transition into civilian life. One of the activities the organization uses to help ease the transition is golf. “Fairways for Warriors offers veterans a change to re-engage with the community and other service members,” said former Army Specialist Robert Jackson. “We go through our ups and downs and our struggles every day, as well as going through every single golf stroke. If you’re in a bad position, you find a way out of that position.” The organization also offers other services besides golf, such as resume writing and career counseling. Easy Picker provides the organization with golf equipment, as well as other forms of support.
