EAST NAPLES, Fla. A Parkside Elementary School teacher was reassigned to administrative duties Thursday following a Facebook post praising mass deportations.

A post from the Facebook account of Veronica Fleming, an instructional review/computer lab teacher, addressed the “Day Without Immigrants” boycott:

When concerned parents began calling the school, where 97 percent of the students are of Haitian-Creole or Hispanic descent, the principal contacted the district, according to Greg Turchetta, a spokesperson for the Collier County Public Schools.

Within two hours of the initial calls, which came in around 11 a.m., Fleming was reassigned to the administrative building until the investigation is complete.

Protesters plan to gather outside the school at 7:30 a.m. Friday.
