Fire destroys mobile home in San Carlos Park

A fire burned a mobile home early Friday morning.

The fire occurred just west of Tamiami Trail near Unique Circle at around 5 a.m. Friday, according to the San Carlos Park Fire Department.

The single occupant of the home and a cat were able to escape with no injuries, said the fire department.

The fire marshal is conducting an investigation. Officials are saying the floor inside the home has completely collapsed.

The cause of the fire is still unclear due to extensive damage.
