John Wilsbach is on a mission after opening security camera footage of a stranger inside his Marco Island home. The man is shown wearing sunglasses and camouflaged pants walking from room to room, but police said the man did not remove or take anything. “It’s a churning in your stomach you feel violated,” Wilsbach said. The Marco Island Police Department encouraged anyone with information to come forward, and offered several tips to protect your home while away: Have a good watch system with neighbors Lock your home Trim shrubs around your home so potential intruders can’t hide Have a reliable alarm system Don’t showcase valuables in the window Don’t post on social media saying you’ll be out of town Stop newspaper deliveries while you’re away Set timers for lights WINK News reporter Hannah Vogel spoke with neighbors about the incident in the quiet neighborhood.
