Craig Williams, 42. (Credit: WINK News) A man was caught on camera choking a woman, then smashing her head with the butt of a handgun. Now, the woman in the video is scared for her life after the he was released from jail by mistake. Shaquita Hutto said she is petrified after a man — seen in a video — ruthlessly attacked her. Authorities arrested Craig Williams, 42, for choking and pistol-whipping Hutto outside a Fort Myers store. She said the argument started with a disrespectful comment. “Next, before I even knew it the guy had took a gun out and he hit me with it,” Hutto said. “Oh my God, blood was everywhere.” Williams was ordered to be held on $125,000 cash only bail because he has family members in the bond business. But somehow, Williams got away with using a bonds-person to put up only 10 percent of that bail to get out of Lee County Jail. Peter Dennis, a criminal defense attorney, said it was a serious mistake. “It appears there may have been a mix between cash and surety, which would have been a violation of the judge’s direct orders,” Dennis said. “If someones only to be released on a cash bond.. then they have to put forward an entire amount of that cash bond…before they’re released.” Williams is scheduled to appear in court Wednesday. With a long history of criminal charges, Hutto said she is praying he shows.
