Collier County prowlers caught on camera attempting car break-in

Imagine sitting inside your home and not knowing prowlers were trying to get into your car.

Two men were caught on camera approaching cars sitting in a homeowner’s driveway in the Pine View Villas neighborhood in Collier County.

The men are seen shaking the handle trying to see if its unlocked. The men end up being unsuccessful.

The homeowner said it all unfolded just feet away from him and his family.

“It’s a weird feeling, like, that can happen,” homeowner Rafael Solano said. “After that, it’s a scary feeling. Someone can be checking your vehicle or your house. After that, it’s not the same anymore. You feel like scared, like that can happen here.”

Solano said he urged his neighbors to install more surveillance cameras, so they can catch crooks who target them.
